The platform is two parts, an illegal parking reporting app and a suite of tools that help our collaborators socialize the data we collect and take it to their elected officials to demand change.
Since launching in August of 2019 over 800 registered users have submitted over 24,000 illegal parking violations through the Safe Lanes platform, all of which are publicly searchable and filterable on a live map.
At the heart of the project are “campaigns” which allow our collaborators to collect data in specific areas they care about and then use that data to push for change.
I have dedicated a solid year of my life to developing this project and am actively looking for collaborators who can help me realize its full potential. If you care about safer streets, transportation justice and empowering people with data that can reduce our dependency on cars please reach out.
